About the Author

Fredi Brodmann

Fredi was born in Vienna, Austria. Since childhood he drew all the time. Horses, airplanes and cars – later cartoons.

Ironically, that is why he became a watch designer. A series of cartoons about time lead to the first watch collection. “WatchMe” by ABrodmann, was produced by Piranha Marketing in 1985 while he lived and worked in Munich. He dropped his successful freelance cartoonist career and fully immersed himself in the international watch and fashion industry. From then on he relentlessly created signature watches and collections for numerous brands, licensees and select private label clients.

In 2025 he had the privilege to translate the iconic Normalzeit Vienna City Cube Clock into a wrist watch edition. In collaboration with Christof Stein he produced 1907 limited and numbered watches to mark the year synchronized timekeeping was brought to Vienna in 1907.

With I dreamt you loved me, Fredi returned to the early chapter in his career when he was a published editorial cartoonist in the early eighties in collaboration with his co-author Louis Lewitan.
